What is Dear Vivian?

Dear Vivian is a free service that provides customers with an easy and convenient way to leave comments for local businesses. It also provides business owners with an efficient way to receive and respond to comments that have been made. Customers that submit comments can do so anonymously if they prefer, and all comments are kept confidential.  

What are the benefits to business owners and their customers?

First and foremost, Dear Vivian was created to help small businesses owners achieve greater success, by improving their ability to communicate more effectively with customers. Opening the lines of communication with customers gives owners the knowledge and insight they need to maximize customer retention, build loyalty, and improve overall growth and profitability.

Second, Dear Vivian gives customers an easy and effective way to participate in the success of their favourite local businesses. Dear Vivian removes the barriers that many customers face when they want to leave feedback or comments for a business owner. The more comments a business owner receives, the easier it is for them to meet customer expectations and ensure their continued support. By playing an active role, customers have the opportunity to benefit from the positive changes they helped make possible.

Third, Strong and vibrant communities with good economies don’t just happen. They’re created when people get involved and participate in positive change. Getting through the current economic downturn is going to be challenging for many businesses, which impacts everyone. The average citizen can make a difference by simply sharing their thoughts and ideas with business owners and leaders in our community.

How does the service work?

For customers
Leaving comments for local businesses and organizations has never been this easy. All communications are private, and can be made either anonymously or with the customers contact information. To leave comments, customers click on the “Leave Your Comments” tab in the menu bar to look up a business, or use the “Business Keyword Search “found in the top right hand corner of the site. Next, comments can be left in any of the following three categories: The Good News, The Helpful News, or Ideas and Suggestions.

For business owners

Receiving comments and responding to them have never been this easy. Businesses owners that register to use the service receive a username and password to access their member profile and control panel. From the control panel they can view and respond to customer comments, post company responses, add specific questions to their member profiles, add incentives for customers that leave contact information, and advertise for free through the special offers, promotions and events section. Also included are downloadable banners and a User Guide that is full of tips and resources on how to use the service to its full potential.
